Whether you are renting a bungalow on the beach or reimbursing a friend abroad, nothing could be easier! With Yuh, you can transfer money in 13 currencies [CHF – USD – EUR – GBP – JPY – AUD – CAD – SEK – HKD – NOK – DKK – AED – SGD] to SEPA* countries. All you have to do is enter the bank details of the recipient (BIC and IBAN) and choose the currency. It is as simple as that! Not only that, but also transfers in euros are free.
* What are the SEPA countries? The Single Euro Payments Area is a pan-European community which aims to make payments in the euro zone as easy and safe as national payments. Here is a list of SEPA countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Vatican City.
At Yuh, we like to keep fees on a short leash. That’s why international transfers in EUR within the SEPA area are free.
And here’s some more good news: bank transfers within Switzerland and Liechtenstein are also free in the 13 currencies available in the app.
For transfers in other currencies, a flat fee of CHF 4 applies.
But, there’s a “but”… Yuh isn’t responsible for any fees charged by the receiving bank or intermediary banks. These fees are outside of Yuh’s control and may be deducted from the amount received by the beneficiary.
The exact amount isn’t known in advance, as it can vary depending on the currency, destination country and banks involved. As a rough indication, these fees are usually between CHF 10 and CHF 50, or the equivalent in the relevant currency.
To avoid any surprises, it’s worth checking with the receiving bank before making the transfer.
We apply the inter-banking rate (a.k.a. mid-market rate), just as you see it on Google, plus a small fee (0.95%) on top.
We like to keep the Yuhniverse digital only. Yuh doesn’t have any subsidiaries or bank counters. What’s more, we don’t speculate with your money and use it wisely where it matters.
Don’t worry, the Yuh app will remain free in the future. We’ll continue with mini-fees or none at all. We’ve listened to our Yuhsers and taken their wishes to heart. And because we stick to our promises, we aren’t planning to add flat-rate packages to our product range at the moment.
