When should you block your account?

Card lock vs. account block

Locking your card is instant, reversible and usually enough for limited risk. Blocking your account goes one step further: it freezes app access, payments, transfers and funds. To restore access, contact Customer Care to pass a manual security check.
Lost your card? Locking it should do the trick.

How to spot a scam before you click

1. Check before you trust

Before clicking or entering any credentials, do a quick sanity check:

Inspect the sender/URL: Don’t just trust the display name. Click on the sender to see the actual email address or look for a blue badge if you’re using Gmail or Apple email, this means it’s really us.
If the address doesn’t end in yuh.com, it’s fake.
Secure your devices: Always password-protect or use biometrics on your phone and keep your Yuh app updated to ensure you have the latest security patches.
Type, don’t search: Type yuh.com directly into your browser and bookmark it. This helps you avoid copycat websites and phishing attacks.

2. Build routine habits

Great security is built on simple daily habits:

App-first attitude: Ignore links sent via SMS or email. For any sensitive operation, go straight to your Yuh app. This is your most secure environment, period.
Regular checks: Log in frequently to monitor your transactions and check the “Linked Devices” in your settings.
Verify the caller: If you’re unsure whether it is us calling, end the call and contact us directly on our official number: +41 44 825 87 89.

3. Follow the golden rule

In doubt? Open your app.
If something feels off, don’t take the risk. Close the message and access your account through the app independently.
If we truly need you to take action, you will find a secure notification waiting for you there.

Still got questions?

What is a phishing scam?

A phishing scam is a type of online fraud where fraudsters pretend to be a trusted company to steal your personal information, login credentials or money. This can happen via SMS, email, phone call, QR code or fake website. Their goal is usually to create a sense of urgency or false trust, prompting you to act without thinking twice.

What should I do first if I think I’ve been phished?

If you think you have clicked on a fake link or shared sensitive information, act quickly. Change your Yuh Key, check your linked devices, lock your card if necessary, and review your recent account activity. If anything still feels wrong, contact Yuh Customer Care immediately.

How can I tell if a message claiming to be from Yuh is fake?

Phishing messages often create a sense of urgency, ask for sensitive information or include suspicious links. Yuh will never ask you for your password, PIN or Yuh Key via email, SMS or phone. If you are in any doubt, open the Yuh app directly instead of clicking a link.

What is the difference between locking my card and blocking my account?

Locking your card is quick and reversible, and useful if the risk is limited to your card. Blocking your account is a much stronger step that freezes app access and money transfers. You should only use this option if your phone, Yuh Key or overall account access may be compromised.

Does Yuh send login links by SMS or email?

No, Yuh never sends login links by SMS or email. If you receive a message asking you to log in via a link, treat it as suspicious and open the app directly instead.

What are the common signs of a phishing scam?

Red flags may include urgent language, threats, suspicious links, fake websites, unexpected phone calls, QR codes from unknown sources, and requests for confidential information. If something feels rushed or off, stop and verify first.

What should I do if I see an unfamiliar device in my account?

Go to your linked devices in the app and remove access for any device you do not recognise. Then change your Yuh Key and review recent account activity to ensure your account remains secure.

Can Yuh help if I report suspicious activity?

Yes. If you notice any suspicious activity or suspect that you may have been targeted by a scam, please contact Yuh Customer Care. The team can help you review the situation and explain what to do next.

Is Yuh a safe bank?

Yuh is built to keep your money 100% safe. No drama, no shady business. All banking and financial services in the Yuh app are provided by Swissquote Bank Ltd, a FINMA-authorised Swiss bank. This means your money benefits from Swiss banking law protections, including deposit protection of up to CHF 100’000 in case of bankruptcy.
